A dearer soul you will  never meet than Ms. Gail Norris.  And as she said, she is a good teacher!

Gail has done a lot with her music education degree.  She has been teaching private piano lessons for 25  years despite the physical difficulties of having Multiple Sclerosis.  Since being diagnosed as a teenager, she has never let MS stop her and I think she's a good role model  of what the right attitude and determination can get you through.

In addition to her beautiful baby grand piano, she also has a keyboard on which kids can play music with a full orchestra accompaniment.  How exciting for a child to hear their contribution become a part of the whole!

Gail uses a point system to motivate her students. Earn points for practicing, memorizing and other things. When you get 1000 points (easily done every month Gail says), the student gets to choose a piece of music they'd like to learn!

I met Marie about a year ago (May, 2011) at a premier event. At that time, she was working as a tour bus driver and starting her Send Out Cards business. A few months later, I ran into her at a networking meeting. Danny Cabrera, Now Voyager Hypnotherapy

Danny opened his own practice in 1996 using the name of a classic movie he saw starring Bette Davis. The story of this woman intrigued him as a young man and he followed his path to study with Dr. Edwin Druding, a direct disciple of Milton Erickson, the father of modern hypnotherapy. He has a long list of services which include:  performance enhancement (business/sports), weight control, smoking cessation, low self-esteem, etc.

What I appreciate about Danny is his lighted hearted, fun and calming disposition. We had several sessions together and I always felt heard and validated. New Series

My name is Teri Shardy. This blog site will be about local companies in Phoenix that are sole proprietors, this will include many like myself who are in direct sales.  Through years of networking I have met hundreds of people in business that work very hard trying to get their name out in front of the public. This is  my attempt to facilitate their exposure.

I first thought of doing this several months ago when I went to a jobseekers conference. The guest speaker that day was from an organization called Local First Arizona (localfirstaz.com).  She gave us alot of numbers about sales tax and employment that really startled me! To think that a city as large as the Phoenix Metro area is  would actually pay companies to open stores here is crazy to me. You'd think 4 million potential customers would be enough of a reason. So since then I have been on a mission to visit local businesses first if at all possible. To find out more about local businesses you can frequent check out Local First's website.

As part of a direct sales company, even though that company may be out of state, we live right here and pay our taxes right here.  I am a consultant with Gold Canyon Candles which is located in Chandler, Arizona. We have consultants around the country, Canada and Puerto Rico.  Many of the people you will meet that are direct sellers have websites where you can view the catalog and order online.  If necessary, you could also look up a consultant in your area.
